CMS Increasing Audits

CMS has increased the audit cycle of MSA reporting as well as demands for conditional payments. The audits appear to be precautionary (not punitive), the demands of conditional payments typically follow the death of MSA beneficiary. Both inquiries are expertly handled by Medi-Bill and should be of no great concern to our clients. However, these two recent developments seem to indicate that CMS is becoming much more pragmatic regarding the accurate administration of MSA's and demonstrates the benefits of professionally administered MSAs over self administration.
